Only love can save them…

Wren O’Hara is waiting for the day she succumbs to mental illness like her mother. When she is attacked by a psychotic client at work, and saved by what must be an angel, she fears the time for insanity has come.

Little does she know, her savior is an immortal warrior druid named Riagan Tenman, and that he will challenge everything she ever thought she knew about reality.

Now Wren must decide if the fantasy unfolding before her is true, or if she has finally lost her mind.

Destiny Fulfilled

Hello, and thank you for hosting me today! I’m so happy to be here with you all to celebrate the release of my fantasy romance, Destiny Fulfilled. It’s available now across all formats and online retailers. Please visit my website, www.LaireMcKinney.com, for more information.

As a writer, I love to talk all things writing, and today would like to offer the books and workshops that have helped me hone my writing craft the most. You might find your own inspiration through these, or you might have your own list. I do know that no matter how seasoned an author you are, the craft of writing can always be improved. There will be times of writer’s block, of low inspiration, of complete boredom with a WIP. If these haven’t happened to you yet, great. If they have, you can understand how a novel on writing, an online workshop or an in-person workshop can help pull you out of your slump and improve the quality of your writing in the process.

1. Here are my top three favorite writing-related books:

On Writing by Stephen King

Screenwriting Tricks for Authors by Alexandria Sokoloff

The Breakout Novel (and The Fire in Fiction) by Donald Mass

**Runner up: Story Genius by Lisa Cron

2. Top three online workshops:

Any by Margie Lawson https://www.margielawson.com

Any by Michael Hauge https://www.storymastery.com

The two folks listed above often travel and do in-person workshops as well, and I have learned the most poignant, pivotal, and powerful writing tools from these two. Check out their websites for information.

3.Top in-person workshops:

RWA (Romance Writers of America) is the best place I have found for offering workshops. There is a local chapter in nearly every state, sometimes more depending on interest. You can go to monthly meetings for brief workshops and networking, or to yearly retreats, or the national RWA conference that happens each year in July. www.rwa.org.

InD’Tale—this online magazine has a yearly conference that offers workshops. http://www.indtale.com

If you write children’s or young adult, check out Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. (SCWBI) https://www.scbwi.org.

The best advice I can give to authors is to constantly work on improving your craft, whether it be by purchasing or checking out a book on writing, attending a workshop, or even reading. Reading other authors’ novels is beautifully fulfilling way to improve your craft, while also having the pleasure to read a good book!

Happy writing! Laire
