Brandy's Book Nook: Writer's On The River book signing event

Image
Writer's On The River Peoria, IL ✩✩✩✩✩ Hi everyone! Last weekend I attended Writer's on the River for the third time and had a blast! This event raises money for Thistle Farms which helps women. Part of the fundraising is a raffle after the book signing is over. This year's raffle had three or four long tables packed full of donations. There were also three quilts raffled, so make sure to bring a little extra money for a good cause! If you go to the website they say that there is over 80 romance authors, but I wanted to let you know that there is more than just romance. Like the author's table pictured below. This is the table for the book I reviewed last week titled "The True Death". Definitely not romance! This guy is a riot, but like his books is not afraid of some cursing lol. VIP bags are packed full of goodies and are almost full before you even start, so I recommend bringing an extra bag or a bag on wheels as you will wear you

Brandy's Book Nook review: Hallow Brothers series (adult)

Image
Hallow Brothers Series By Tricia Andersen ✩✩✩✩✩ This series is about seven brothers who love MMA fighting and are werewolves. The mating bond joins them with their mate after they sleep together, and forever afterwards if someone who interested in them touches them it makes them physically ill which leads to some tricky situations. Also, these werewolves are not nice and cuddly. During the full moon you better not be around, and Caleb may be the most dangerous one. Book one introduces us to Caleb and Meg, and these two have sparks flying and starting fires from the beginning. They fight hard and love hard, and it's a good thing because Meg's ex is out for revenge. You see Caleb is fighting Meg's ex for a chance at the welterweight champion. Meg's ex is a hot mess and dangerous. These two go through hell to be together. There is lots of explicit content, and there is violence. There is a little bit that may be a slight trigger for some. Book two i
