Genre: Romance

Tell us a little bit about why you write in your chosen genre, and if you have books in other genres as well.

I love a good love story. It’s something I look for in all of the books I read, so it was natural for me to write about romance. My Blood Books trilogy is urban fantasy and paranormal romance, and this September, my publisher is releasing my horror debut, a short story titled Her. That’s the only thing I’ve written that doesn’t have a love story weaved through!

Tell us about your first book.

The first book I published was Blood Rose. It released in August 2015. In early-2016, I released Blood Magic and Blood Promise, the final two books in the trilogy. In late-2016, my publisher, OfTomes Publishing, signed the trilogy, and they are re-releasing the novels this year (June 21, 2017; August 1, 2017; and October 31, 2017).

The Blood Books trilogy follows the harrowing journey of Avah Taylor, a mortal witch in the midst of a centuries-old war against the immortal vampire species. Avah’s intense journey is fueled by blood, jealousy, betrayal, murder, and revenge. Learn more: http://danielle-rose.com/blood-books/.

What is your most current book?
Blood Rose, the first book in my Blood Books trilogy, is my most recently released book. It released Just 21, 2017. Here’s the book’s blurb:

There’s no wrath like that of a witch scorned.
As one of the only spirit users in her coven, Avah has been chosen to wield The Power, the ultimate weapon against the immortal vampire species witches have been at war with for centuries. But on the night of her birth rite, Avah’s coven is attacked. Forced to seek refuge among the very beings she’s sworn to kill, Avah vows revenge on those who took her former life from her.
As Avah slowly transitions into a life of blood and war, she realizes everything she’s been told is a lie.

New books are so exciting. Can we expect anything new from you soon?

Yes! My entire Blood Books trilogy releases this year. The first book, Blood Rose, released June 21st; Blood Magic, the second book, releases August 1st; and Blood Promise, book three, releases October 31st. I’m also releasing a young adult horror short story, Her, on September 19th. And there may or may not be a surprise release in December.  : )

I love surprises. Do you have stories planned or that you’ve been working on for the future?

Yes! I’m currently writing a young adult dystopian novel End of Days, which my publisher, OfTomes Publishing, is planning to release in summer 2018. I am extremely excited about this, because I’m weaving underlying themes that mirror today’s society. It’s also a diverse book, which are seriously lacking in this industry: the main character is an African American lesbian, and her best friend is a homosexual man.

I am also writing an adult contemporary erotic romance thriller. The first draft is complete, but I have no current plans to publish the novel, as I’m shopping agents.

Some stories have strong themes. How important are themes in your writing? Is your theme based on the story, or are your stories birthed from a theme/or themes?

Themes are extremely important in my writing. I include many in every one of my novels, and I hope readers pick up on them. In almost all of my books, I delve into the human condition, which fascinates me. My fascination stems from the digital age we live in. With the click of a button, we can witness the most horrendous acts, and we are quick to judge. But if we were in that person’s situation, would be react in the same way? We often think not. These are some topics I explore in my books.

What other stories have you written?
At the moment, I’ve only written my Blood Books trilogy and Her, my short story.

I love to bounce around websites because I’ve found I can learn so much about an Author there. Do you have a website, or other place where you showcase your work?

I sure do! You can visit my website here: www.Danielle-Rose.com.

So many Authors are artist’s by nature. Do you have any other artwork, or hobbies you do on a consistent basis?

I can sing, play some instruments, and I would love to paint. I haven’t tried painting yet, so I may be no good.

What were your passions growing up?

Writing, reading, and traveling.

I loved all those things too. Thank you for joining me today. I’m looking forward to seeing the books you’ll be showcasing in the future.

Thank you so much for having me!
