Someone she knows is watching.
Someone she knows is stalking.
And something hides in the darkness.

With a Category 4 hurricane about to make landfall, boat safety instructor Kate Parks is running out of time. Bodies are piling up--and they're not from the raging storm. An injury may have ended her career as a Fish and Wildlife officer, but nothing can keep her away from the investigation.

And it doesn’t take long for her to see that the clues have one thing in common: a connection to the recent death of her five-year-old nephew.

In a brewing storm of rage, guilt, and family secrets, Kate fights to protect her grieving sister just as the hurricane threatens everything she knows and loves. But before her world is completely ravaged, she must uncover one final truth:

Run from the water.
Hide from the wind.
Flee from the shadows where a weeper seeks revenge.

5 Websites to Find Your Next Mystery Read
by J.C. Gatlin

Are you looking for a new mystery to test your sleuthing skills? How about a new page-turner to keep you up all night? Obviously, Amazon and GoodReads are go-to sites that immediately come to mind. But there are five more sites worth a regular visit to find your next read.

Mystery and Suspense is a “web daily and quarterly magazine,” with interviews, reviews, and features focused on mystery, thriller, crime, horror, and suspense. Founded in 2020, it’s a fairy new site but is surprisingly content rich.

Novel Suspects is “a community of mystery and thriller fans,” including readers, authors, editors, and publishers sharing their favorite books, movies, TV shows, and podcasts. But they love books the most. You’ll find mystery and suspense book lists, series features, quizzes, videos, exclusive excerpts, and author essays, and reviews.

Map Your Mystery segregates books by the country, and even by the state the book is set in. So, are you looking for a mystery set in Florida? Arizona? Colorado? This site will give you the choices.

Mystery Sequels is a resource site for all mystery series. This site lists popular mystery authors, book reviews, interviews, stories and news from the mystery/thriller fiction world. But it’s series only—no stand-alone books.

Mystery People is “a destination for mystery and crime fiction lovers to find out what’s new and noteworthy” on the bookshelves. The site focuses on books and authors the major chain stores may ignore. Best of all, it’s a virtual bookstore within an actual bookstore located in Austin, Texas.
